Small Talk at a Restaurant

Maria: Here we are. I hope you like this place – their salads are incredible.
Alex: It’s a great spot. The atmosphere is wonderful.
David: It’s nice to take a break and have a moment to relax. I was just looking at the menu, and I’m torn between the fish and the steak. What would you recommend, Maria?
Maria: I’d go with the fish – it’s always fresh. So, how has your week been so far?
Alex: It’s been busy but productive. Lots of meetings and deadlines to manage. How about you?
David: Same here, it’s been a busy week for me as well. But I’m glad we could find some time to have lunch and catch up. By the way, have you tried the pasta here? I heard it’s really good.
Maria: Oh, I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard the same. Maybe we should give it a try today. Alex, did you do anything fun last weekend?
Alex: I actually just got back from a short trip to London this past weekend.
Maria: Oh, fantastic! Was that for business or pleasure?
Alex: A bit of both. I managed to squeeze in a couple of meetings, but also got to visit a few art museums. It’s always nice to have a change of scenery.
Maria: I completely agree. My last trip was a few months ago. It feels like ages ago.
David: Well, let’s order first, and then we can talk more about your trip, Alex. I think the waiter is coming over now.
